The NFL season starts Thursday night, and the college football campaign is only a week old. But it can still be fun to predict where college stars might go when the 2020 NFL draft arrives.

CBS Sports did a first-round mock draft earlier this week, and as expected, it’s filled with some of the top players from the SEC. That includes three who are projected to go in the top five picks — offensive linemen Andrew Thomas (Georgia) and Trey Smith (Tennessee) and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama).

Here are the 12 SEC players who are featured in this first-round mock draft:

Andrew Thomas, Georgia OT (Pick 2, Washington Redskins)
Tua Tagovailoa, Alabama QB (Pick 4, Cincinnati Bengals)
Trey Smith, Tennessee OL (Pick 5, Arizona Cardinals)
Kristian Fulton, LSU CB (Pick 8, Detroit Lions)
Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina DL (Pick 9, Denver Broncos)
Jerry Jeudy, Alabama WR (Pick 11, Indianapolis Colts)
Grant Delpit, LSU S (Pick 14, San Francisco 49ers)
J.R. Reed, Georgia S (Pick 25, Dallas Cowboys)
Darrell Taylor, Tennessee LB (Pick 27, Philadelphia Eagles)
Albert Okwuegbunam, Missouri TE (Pick 30, New England Patriots)
Trevon Diggs, Alabama CB (Pick 31, Oakland Raiders)
CJ Henderson, Florida CB (Pick 32, Kansas City Chiefs)

This mock draft also features a pair of former SEC quarterbacks. Washington quarterback Jacob Eason, who transferred from Georgia, is projected to go No. 12 to the Tennessee Titans. Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts, who transferred from Alabama, is projected at No. 24 to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The SEC always has strong representation in the NFL draft, particularly in the early rounds, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see many of these players continue to improve their stock this fall and be selected early when the draft comes in April.
