CBS-Turner Sports announce changes to 2018 NCAA Selection Show presentation
College basketball Twitter has found something new to be angry about: the NCAA Selection Show.
CBS and Turner Sports announced Tuesday that the upcoming 2018 NCAA March Madness Selection Show would be different than in year’s past. Instead of slowly leaking the bracket out, one matchup at a time, they plan to reveal all 68 teams that make the field at the start of the program followed by the matchups contained in each region of the bracket.
This should end the excruciating wait some programs have as they hope and pray to see their name scroll across the TV screen in a bracket. Without taking away any joy from those programs, they are still going to go nuts when they find out they make the tournament, this could be a solid change to the format of the show.
Here is the official release of the announcement, courtesy of the New York Times’ Adam Zagoria:
For whatever reason, the decision to change up the format has caused some to voice their frustration with the change:
The fundamental failure by Turner Sports is not realizing that the bracket is the star of the selection show. That’s all anyone cares about. It’s literally impossible to eff this up unless you really try.

Just told a friend it's almost as if they try to find a new way each year to mess it up. https://t.co/taxDEkg4sn
