Cedric Tillman has missed Tennessee’s last few games as he recovers from surgery, and it appears that streak will continue.
On Saturday, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that Tillman was expected to miss the Vols’ game against UT Martin in Week 8.
As you can see below, Thamel says Tillman is making progress and should play in Week 9 against Kentucky. He added that suspended safety Jaylen McCollough is also not expected to play on Saturday:
Sources: Tennessee will again be without star WR Cedric Tillman and veteran S Jaylen McCollough against UT Martin today. Tillman increased his practice activity and is making progress, as he’s expected to ramp up next week with the expectation to return against Kentucky.

If Tillman can return against Kentucky, that would be a huge boost for the Tennessee offense that has seen Jalin Hyatt and Bru McCoy emerge as elite targets for QB Hendon Hooker.
Tennessee’s game against UT Martin kicks off at noon Eastern time and can be seen on the SEC Network.
