Sam Horn entered the 2025 college football season with Missouri in one of the most tightly contested quarterback battles with Beau Pribula. Both guys were going to play in the Week 1 game against Central Arkansas, but Horn was injured on the first play of the game.
He ended up fracturing his tibia in that game, and it was announced that he would need surgery.

College football insider Pete Thamel provided an update on the Missouri quarterback.
The doctors are expecting Horn to make a complete and successful recover, but he is going to miss the remainder of the season. Horn is a dual-sport athlete at Missouri, as he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 17th round of the 2025 MLB Draft.
With Horn out, Pribula has taken the starting job at Missouri, and he has played some terrific football to help the Tigers to move to 2-0. In last week’s rivalry game against Kansas, Pribula delivered late when the Tigers needed him the most.
He finished 30-of-39 for 334 yards and three touchdowns.
The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, as they host Louisiana at 4 p.m. ET, and the game will be aired on the SEC Network.
