On Thursday, Florida unveiled its uniform combination for Saturday’s road game against Texas A&M. The decision was orange helmets with a white stripe with blue trim down the center—along with the familiar Gator head logo on the sides—with white jerseys and blue pants.

Not anymore.

On Friday night, the Gators announced they were switching it up: the orange helmets and white jerseys would stay, but the team would be wearing white pants instead of blue.

It’s an interesting decision to announce one jersey combo, only to change it less than 24 hours later. However, some Gator fans will recall that the last time the team played in College Station, they went with the orange-white-white look. That was in 2012, a game that ended in a 20-17 win.

Of course, you don’t win or lose games based on what uniform combination you wear on Saturdays. But you have to think that a few people inside the Florida locker room and on the equipment staff are a little superstitious, and ultimately made the decision to simply go with what worked in Aggieland the first time.
