Charles Bediako went undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, but he did land a short-term deal with a NBA franchise on Friday.
According to NBA insider Chris Haynes, Bediako has signed a 1-year deal with the San Antonio Spurs.

Bediako’s decision to remain in the 2023 NBA Draft was a surprising one. He had multiple years of eligibility remaining and could have returned to lead the front court for a strong Alabama team in 2023-24.
He averaged 6.4 points and 6 rebounds per contest last season for the Crimson Tide.
Bediako will now compete for a roster spot in San Antonio. His most likely role would be as a backup center for the Spurs, who drafted generational prospect Victor Wembanyama No. 1 overall in Thursday’s NBA Draft.
The Spurs have other front court options as well that include Keldon Johnson and Jeremy Sochan, but neither of those players are centers. Bediako has more size than San Antonio’s other reserve centers, Khem Birch and Charles Bassey.
Bediako is expected to play for the Spurs in Summer League next month.
