A knee injury means the end of the season for former Georgia star Leonard Floyd.
The Chicago Bears outside linebacker was placed on injured reserve on Thursday.
This season he recorded 34 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one safety and two pass deflections in 10 games before suffering a knee injury in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions. The Bears said earlier this week that Floyd did not tear his ACL.
Floyd was carted off the field on Sunday against Detroit after cornerback Kyle Fuller ran into Floyd while trying to make a tackle.
The No. 9 overall selection in 2016 NFL Draft, Floyd last year made 33 tackles, seven sacks, one safety, two pass deflections, one forced fumble and one defensive touchdown in 12 games.
Roster Update: We have placed Leonard Floyd on IR.
We’ve also promoted LB Howard Jones to our active roster and signed WR Demarcus Ayers to the practice squad. #DaBears pic.twitter.com/GomshtoTIH
