Former South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw was waived by the Chicago Bears on Friday, the team announced.
The roster move came after Shaw suffered a hamstring injury late in the preseason.
Shaw never played in a regular-season game with the Bears after he signed with Chicago in July 2016. He suffered a broken leg a month later in the preseason.
Earlier in his career, Shaw, the Gamecocks’ all-time winningest quarterback, suffered a thumb injury in a preseason game with Cleveland, which forced him to miss the season.
Roster Update: We have waived RB Ka'Deem Carey and QB Connor Shaw from IR.
