Week 3’s matchup between the No. 3 LSU Tigers and the Florida Gators marked the latest entry in one of college football’s most underrated rivalries, and it also marked the renewal of the longstanding bet between SEC Network analysts Chris Doering and Peter Burns.

The 2 longtime colleagues and friends have been betting on the outcome of the LSU-Florida game for years at this point, with the loser of the bet having to pay up in some sort of humiliating fashion.

Doering, a former Gators’ wideout, naturally bet on his alma mater to pull out the upset over the Tigers, while Baton Rouge native and lifelong LSU fan Burns placed his bet on the Tigers to pull out the Week 3 win.

Well, LSU secured the 20-10 victory, which meant that Doering once again came out on the wrong side of the wager he made with his fellow SEC Network mainstay, and he paid up the bet in a very unique way on Monday morning.

Doering’s punishment for losing his bet against Burns was to interview LSU head coach Brian Kelly on national television while wearing a pumpkin costume and holding a Hello Kitty plushy.

The hilarious segment got a good laugh out of Kelly, who gave the Florida alum some much-deserved credit for his commitment during the interview, telling Doering, “There is nobody who pays up a bet better than you.”
