Chris “The Bear” Fallica has evaluated the 2024 SEC matchups, released on Wednesday, and offered a breakdown on WJOX with Greg McElroy and Cole Cubelic.
“It’s going to be interesting to have the 3-time defending champion Georgia with a road schedule of Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas,” Fallica said. “You see what I did there.”
Fallica said it’s good to see Texas A&M and Texas playing because it’s a game everyone wants, along with going back to Southwest Conference roots.
As for this year’s win totals, Fallica said he’s played LSU under 9.5 wins.
“I know LSU is a super hyped team, obviously had a great year last year,” he said. “But you look, you’ve got Florida State, you’ve got to go to Mississippi State, you’ve got to go to Ole Miss, you’ve got to go to Bama. You’ve got A&M. There are a lot of losable games, I think on that schedule. For a team last year that played in a lot of high variance games.”
Despite the youth, and the stars at LSU, Fallica said getting back to 10 wins will be difficult.
Fallica also played Oklahoma at 60-1 to win the national championship.
“That doesn’t mean that I think Oklahoma is going to win the national championship,” he said. “… But you’re looking at a league in the Big 12 where if you win that league, you’re going to be in the Playoff, and if you’re holding a ticket at 60-1, I don’t know if 60-1’s still out there or not. I doubt it is. Maybe you can still find 50. But if you win the Big 12, you’re in. You’ve got a ticket you can play with at 60-1 and kind of lock in some profits. You saw last year with TCU coming from nowhere to make the Playoff. You saw Iowa State nearly win the league a couple of years ago.”
Oklahoma also misses Kansas State and Texas Tech, 2 teams that Fallica said traditionally give the Sooners problems.
