Auburn blew out No. 1 seed North Carolina in Kansas City on Friday night, but star player Chuma Okeke injured his knee in the process.
It seems the injury might be serious, and at this point, it seems almost certain that he’ll miss Sunday’s Elite Eight game against either Kentucky or Houston.
Shortly after the Tigers’ win, Okeke issued a statement through an Auburn spokesperson. As you can see below, he said he fully expects the Tigers to advance to the Final Four on Sunday:
Chuma Okeke sent this quote through an Auburn spokesperson: "I'm really proud of our team. We were able to make history tonight. We do not drop off when we go to our bench and we'll be ready for whoever we play on Sunday."

In only 25 minutes of action, Okeke scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Tigers.
He’ll be missed as Auburn advances, but the Tigers have won 11 straight games, so we’ll see just how deep Bruce Pearl’s squad is moving forward.
