Citrus Bowl organizers looking to add more seats for Florida-Michigan matchup
Just so Florida fans out there know, Citrus Bowl tickets are selling like hot cakes.
Only 24 hours after Florida and Michigan were announced as the two teams that will be competing in the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl, only single seats were available to be purchased.
Citrus Bowl organizers are working to fix that problem.
It didn’t help that the stadium underwent a $200M renovation that spanned 10 months from January 2014 and ended in November 2014 that actually decreased the maximum seating capacity from 71,000 to 65,000.
Jim McElwain’s Gators (10-3) will face Jim Harbaugh’s Wolverines (9-3) in a matchup of coaches in their first seasons at their respective schools. The game will be played in Orlando on Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. ET.
Just over 24 hours after selection, the 70th game is almost sold out. Only single seats remain. We are working to add additional seating.
