CJ Spiller officially inducted into Clemson’s Ring of Honor ahead of Virginia game

CJ Spiller was officially inducted into Clemson’s Ring of Honor on Saturday morning.
It was an emotional ceremony for Spiller, who is now Clemson’s running backs coach. He starred at running back for Clemson from 2006-09 and was a big part of the offense during Dabo Swinney’s first season as head coach.
In 2009, Spiller rushed for 1,212 yards and 12 touchdowns. He placed 6th in Heisman Trophy voting that season and earned All-America honors. Spiller is 4th on Clemson’s all-time rushing leaderboard with 3,547 yards in his 4-year career.

Virginia coach Tony Elliott, who previously played for and coached at Clemson, also joined in on the applause during the ceremony.
Spiller is the 8th former individual football player to be inducted into Clemson’s Ring of Honor, which is the “highest honor a Clemson student-athlete can receive,” per the program. Spiller is the first football player to be inducted since Levon Kirkland in 2019.
