Clark Lea confirmed the status of a starter on the Vanderbilt defensive line. The news was reported on Tuesday with the season opener coming up on Aug. 26.
Lea stated that DE Darren Agu will be missing the upcoming Hawai’i game with a dislocated elbow. Agu was listed as week-to-week by the Commodore HC.
Agu played in 11 games for Vanderbilt last season. He recorded 14 total tackles, 1 pass deflection, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 sack.

Agu was a former 3-star edge rusher from the 2022 class. Agu was ranked at No. 41 for his position, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Luckily for the Commodores, the Rainbow Warriors are still a 17.5 point underdog in the matchup, according to ESPN.
The two teams met for the first-time last season. Vanderbilt took care of business and won 63-10 in Honolulu. This year’s matchup will take place in Nashville, Tennessee with Vanderbilt being heavily favored once again.
Kickoff will be Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
