Freshman quarterback AJ Swann has played surprisingly well for the Vanderbilt Commodores this season.
He hasn’t been lighting the world on fire or anything, but he’s kept Vanderbilt football in a couple of games and looked good while doing so. More than anything else, Swann is a promising piece for the future of a struggling football program.
Head coach Clark Lea had an unfortunate injury update regarding Swann Tuesday morning, though. He did not rule him out of the remainder of the season, but the freshman QB will not play vs. Kentucky this week after suffering a lower body injury vs. South Carolina.

Swann has thrown for 10 touchdowns and just 2 interceptions in 8 games this season, completing just under 60% of his passes.
