Clay Travis on the SEC Network? The radio host claims it almost happened

Often outspoken and critical, Outkick the Coverage writer and radio host Clay Travis said on Thursday that he was once offered to work for the SEC Network in 2015.
Travis apparently turned down the network for a rather interesting reason.
As he put it, ESPN wanted to hire him on the network but he turned the “Worldwide Leader” down to eventually resign with Fox Sports:
Never publicized this before, but in 2015 @espn tried to hire me for @secnetwork, but I turned them down to resign with @foxsports.

The tweet stemmed as Travis was evidently reacting to an article in which he said ESPN was lying about him.
In the article @espn execs say I wanted to work there. That is, like most things that come from @espn, a total lie. I picked Fox over ESPN.

Travis said Politico is dropping a 4,500-word feature on him Friday. He was upset because Politico supposedly granted anonymity to ESPN executives to “take shots” at him.
So @politico granted anonymity to @espn execs to take shots at me in article because @espn execs argued my fans would be mean to them online

It’s safe to say Travis, at this point, is pleased with his decision to not join the SEC Network.
Love @espn execs are so afraid of you guys crushing them on here that they demanded anonymity to talk about me. But bush league by @politico
