Alabama and LSU combined for 87 total points in Saturday’s 46-41 win by LSU. It was a great offensive performance on both sides.

Clemson DC Brent Venables was watching part of the game, and now, he’s not exactly excited about the potential to face either of those teams.

As the Tigers march toward the College Football Playoff, Venables said he felt bad for the defensive coordinators while watching that game (via 247Sports):

“Well, I just saw some of it,” Venables said. “Looked like a lot of great players on both sides of the ball. A lot of skill. Pretty frightening watching it. When you start watching that high level skill, both quarterback and scheme and the players, that can get a little overwhelming.

“Thought it looked pretty good to me. Hated it for those defensive coordinators. Looked like a lot of problems you have to solve.”

Clemson could indeed face one (or even both) of those teams in the Playoff, so Venables will have his work cut out for him.
