Clemson announced its next special teams coordinator on Wednesday morning.

Clemson has made some big coaching moves this off-season to try and get things back on the right path. First, Chad Morris was hired to be the offensive coordinator to replace Garrett Riley.

Special teams coach Will Gilchrist also won’t be back in 2026, and on Wednesday, the Tigers announced they will be hiring Rich Bisaccia to take that job.

In a statement, Bisaccia spoke on what it means to come back to Clemson.

“After I made the decision to move in a new direction, Coach Swinney approached me with the opportunity to come back to a place that holds special meaning for me and my family,” Bisaccia said. “I’m thrilled to be able to return to the Clemson community and serve this program in any way I can.”

Bisaccia is coming back to the state where he really broke in to the coaching world. He was a coach at South Carolina from 1988-1993, and then went to Clemson from 1994-1998 to be the running backs and special teams coach.

He has been in the NFL since 2002, when he joined the eventual Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Other stops in the NFL include the Chargers, Cowboys, Raiders and most recently, the Packers.

During his season with the Raiders, he became the interim coach after Jon Gruden was fired in the middle of the season.

Clemson had major expectations entering this past season, but the Tigers weren’t able to have the season they had hoped for. Swinney is looking for a jolt of energy by bringing in Morris and now Bisaccia.
