Clemson might be without one of its two starting cornerbacks for tonight’s national championship game against Alabama.

Redshirt sophomore Mackensie Alexander, who made news this week by saying Alabama freshman receiver Calvin Ridley wasn’t as fast as Notre Dame’s Will Fuller, among other things, could potentially be limited or even miss the big game with a hamstring injury.

How good is Alexander?

Well, he hasn’t allowed a passing touchdown in 23 games. In the College Football Playoff semifinal, Oklahoma threw six passes his way, only completing 2 for 27 yards.

There’s a good chance that Alexander was expected to be the corner of choice to cover Ridley in Glendale, Ariz. We’ll keep you posted if there are any updates on Alexander’s status.
