Clemson Tigers’ quarterback Cade Klubnik is entering his senior season under center as one of the best passers in all of college football, and this has naturally brought a ton of notoriety to the Texas native.
Most of this coverage has been very positive, but being such a huge figure on the national stage can also lead to some people poking fun at the star quarterback.
One instance of this occurred this past week, when an online troll thought it would be amusing to post a prank on social media about the star Tigers’ player getting into a car accident.
Obviously, there was no real accident, but according to Clemson insider John Blau, Klubnik said his mom saw the post and thought it was real. This led to a phone call in which Klubnik said his mom called him in tears, asking if he was alright.
“I don’t know who it was, but shame on them,” Klubnik said about the whole incident. “Shame on them, what they put people I love through.”
Klubnik also mentioned how he thought that the joke was “messed up,” but also let everyone know that he is alright at the end of his comments on the matter while flashing a smile.
