Clemson wideout Antonio Williams will not play Saturday against Troy. The eighth-ranked Tigers (0-1) will also be without starting left tackle Tristan Leigh and safety Khalil Barnes, according to a report from ESPN.
Williams left the Tigers’ season-opening loss to LSU in the first quarter with a hamstring injury. He had been considered day-to-day but did not participate in warm-ups with the team on Saturday afternoon. Instead, he was in street clothes on the field.
Barnes also missed the LSU game. Coach Dabo Swinney labeled Barnes day-to-day earlier this week.
Leigh was an unexpected scratch on Saturday. The Clemson tackle was spotted in a walking boot on the field during the pregame.
Williams had 75 receptions for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. He was a preseason second-team All-American selection by the AP entering the 2025 campaign.
Tyler Brown is expected to see his snaps increase in Williams’s absence. Brown had 4 catches for 43 yards in last week’s 17-10 loss to LSU.
The Tigers face Troy at 3:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network. Clemson is a 29.5-point favorite in the game, per ESPN Bet.
