Clemson punches its ticket to the Playoff after demolishing Virginia

Clemson didn’t leave any doubt on the field Saturday night. The Tigers destroyed Virginia 62-17 in the ACC Championship Game to win their fifth conference championship in a row.
Should the Cavaliers have somehow upset the Tigers, there was a sense that Clemson would have been left out of the top four of Sunday’s College Football Playoff rankings; however, Clemson hasn’t listened to the haters or doubters all season long. Yes, it has played a weak schedule, but it has taken care of business and controlled only what it could control.
Clemson racked up 621 yards of total offense against the Cavaliers, a new ACC Championship Game record.
Currently ranked No. 3, Clemson’s final seeding may not change. No. 2 LSU dominated No. 4 Georgia in the SEC Championship, and LSU could jump the Buckeyes for the No. 1 seed in the Playoff.
Ever since the Tigers squeaked out the win over North Carolina, they have been downright dominant. Trevor Lawrence has his ridiculous receiving cast has been unstoppable. Virginia — or any other ACC team — was no match for Clemson, and the Tigers may win back-to-back national champions, but it will likely have to go through another SEC team in LSU to make that happen.
