Former Auburn DL Devaroe Lawrence went unselected in the 2017 NFL Draft, but signed with the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent.
However, this offseason, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns for a 2019 seventh-round pick, and actually made his regular-season debut in Week 1.
Now, though, the Browns no longer have room for him on the active roster, and on Thursday, announced they had waived him (via ClevelandBrowns.com):
The Cleveland Browns have signed DL Brian Price to the active roster from the practice squad. To make room, the team released DL Devaroe Lawrence.
Lawrence only appeared in that one game for the Browns, and has yet to record a stat during a regular-season contest.
Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but he’s on the hunt for a new squad at the moment.
