The Cleveland Browns released Jarvis Landry less than a week ago. Now, it’s possible that he might find his way back to the Browns.
According to Mary Kay Cabot with Cleveland.com, the Browns restructured the contract for wide receiver Amari Cooper on Saturday. The move with the recently acquired Cooper helped Cleveland clear $15 million in cap space.
Cleveland’s plans with that money? Try to bring back Landry, along with Jadeveon Clowney who had a strong season with the Browns defense in 2021.
Cabot also pointed out that Landry and Clowney both have a desire to play for a title, something Cleveland is motivated to make happen. Playing alongside Deshaun Watson – one of Clowney’s former teammates from his time in Houston – is also of interest to both Clowney and Landry, per Cabot.
Clowney finished with 9 sacks, 11 TFL and 19 QB hits in 2021, his most productive season since 2018 with the Houston Texans. Landry had 570 receiving yards and 4 total touchdowns in a year that he was limited to 12 games played.
