Ed Orgeron shares the latest on Clyde Edwards-Helaire, believes LSU running back will play in Peach Bowl

It’s sounding more and more likely that Clyde Edwards-Helaire suits up for LSU Saturday night in the Peach Bowl showdown against the Sooners.
That’s the latest from Ed Orgeron, who met with the media on Friday morning in anticipation of LSU’s first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff.
Coach O’s comments echo those of LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, who recently said he expects Edwards-Helaire to play against Oklahoma. While both coaches seem to believe the junior tailback is close to hitting the field, it is interesting that Edwards-Helaire has yet to practice with his team nearly 10 days after being injured in the lead up to the Peach Bowl.
“He has not practiced yet,” Orgeron said of Edwards-Helaire on Friday morning. “He got with the trainers, did a little more yesterday. He felt a little sore after he worked out. I talked to him last night.
“Obviously, if Clyde is ready to play, we are going to let him play. That’s going to be a game-time decision. The trainers are going to let us know if he’s able to play, first of all, then I’m going to ask him, ‘Are you ready to play?’ Knowing Clyde, he’s going to want to play.
“Do I think he plays? Yeah. How much he plays? I don’t know. We still have a ways to go there. He’s still a little sore, he’s still not 100 percent healthy, obviously. I don’t know if he can cut yet and he doesn’t know if he can cut yet. We’ll see.”
We’ll see seems to be the belief all along when it comes to LSU’s outstanding running back but given the fact Orgeron and Ensminger are so confident, it would appear the junior will at least see the field in some capacity come Saturday night when LSU and Oklahoma meet in Atlanta.
