RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire is one of the breakout stars of this year’s LSU squad, and he had a huge performance in a win over Alabama.
But, why is his last name hyphenated? Why Edwards-Helaire and not one name or the other?
In this great video produced by SEC Nation, Edwards-Helaire explains the connection he has with his biological father, Clyde Edwards Sr., and his stepfather, Shannon Helaire:

Edwards-Helaire feels a connection to both men, and this was the perfect way to honor them both.
It’s a cool story, and they’re both rooting for the LSU running back to continue his outstanding 2019 season.
