Clyde Edwards-Helaire makes NFL history in Chiefs debut, looks like Rookie of the Year

How’s that for a NFL debut?
Clyde Edwards-Helaire made history for the Kansas City Chiefs Thursday night. The Chiefs beat the Texans 34-20 and Patrick Mahomes threw for 3 touchdowns, but the story of the night was the rookie running back from LSU.
Edwards-Helaire recorded 25 carries for 138 yards and 1 touchdown, becoming the youngest player (21 years, 152 days) in NFL history with 130-plus rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in a debut. He also became just the 4th player in 30 years with those numbers in his first game, too. The previous 3 won Rookie of the Year.
Yeah, Edwards-Helaire is certainly in the perfect position to win the award in 2020, too.

It’s not just the shiftiness either. Edwards-Helaire is a bowling bowl who punishes would-be tacklers.

The best offense in the NFL added the perfect weapon to its unit, and it makes the Chiefs even more dynamic and Patrick Mahomes more potent.
Up until the 2019 season at LSU, Edwards-Helaire was overlooked. Safe to say that’s not happening now even at football’s highest level.
