Sad news has hit Texas A&M as head coach Kevin Sumlin’s father has died.
Several media members, including some citing school officials, have reported that William “Bill” Sumlin — a coach and educator for high school football and basketball teams in Indiana — died on Sunday evening at the age of 81.
Brent Zwerneman of the Houston Chronicle reported that Kevin is in Indiana with loved ones, while Suzanne Halliburton of the Austin-American Statesman says that he won’t be with the Aggies for parts of this week during spring practice.

Coach Sumlin and his father had an amazing relationship/friendship. One thing that always stood out to me was how proud Bill was of his son.
