The Week 8 edition of the coaches poll was released Sunday, and a handful of SEC teams experienced some movement following yet another roller coster ride of a Saturday.
Texas remained atop the rankings following its dominant 34-3 win over Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. Georgia was jumped by Penn State but remained at the No. 4 spot after beating Mississippi State 41-31 because of Ohio State’s loss, while Alabama similarly remained stationary at No. 7.
LSU moved up two spots to No. 8 following its hectic win over Ole Miss in Death Valley, which dropped the Rebels to No. 15. Tennessee dropped a spot to No. 10 after being jumped over by Clemson, Texas A&M remained at No. 14 following a bye week.
Missouri benefitted from Oklahoma and Utah dropping out of the poll in moving up to No. 16 following its win over UMass. Oklahoma and Vanderbilt were the only other SEC teams receiving votes.
