A Sunday tradition, SEC analyst Cole Cubelic has released his takeaways from he saw on the field Saturday from the 14 SEC teams Saturday.
It was a mixed bag for the conference in Week 2.
Alabama survived at Texas in spite of a sloppy effort, and Tennessee picked up a big road win at Pittsburgh.
Additionally, Georgia just keeps on rolling, as does Arkansas and Kentucky, while Texas A&M suffered a bad home loss to Appalachian State.
Here’s a look at what Cubelic, who played center at Auburn, had to say about the weekend’s results:
ARKANSAS: Crazy good start to be 2-0. KJ just looks so comfy & confident. Accurate & deliberate. He has found his calm. OL good, 51 REALLY good. Nice plan. RB tracks & North/South mentality is refreshing. 42 is just big time. All over the damn place! Coverage concerns not gone.

FLORIDA: 1 was great. 33 & 9 showed up. Caught too often on play action. Routes were there. Must take adv of those 1 on 1's. Limitations with how it was called. Got guys in space, need more YAC. Effort was not bad. Just didn't capitalize on opportunities. Will be fine. QB growing

KENTUCKY: Massive win regardless where things end up. QB made good, quick decisions & he's tough as nails. Little to clean up for OL but showed up in must have moments. 79 BIG in run game. 0 made it go late. 15 was huge! S's great in run support. Master plan by B White. Not soft.

MISSISSIPPI STATE: Solid when with location & time. Worry about after effects with tough road trip next. Rogers is big time. Spread ball around well again. Love the micro commitment to run game. Front 7 great vs run. 5 was fun to watch. Took ball away. Gotta manage next few days.

OLE MISS: Handled their business. Man I REALLY like 4, he just glides. Looks effortless. Like the retooled OL. They have the weapons. Just have to find consistent QB play. Turnovers will decide it. 13 played well. Gotta cut out flags & improve on 3rd downs. Group still molding.

TENNESSEE: Really nice win. 5 a bit off early but found it as game went on, middle of field helped & legs were crucial. OL played hard, managed tough front. 76 & 58 GATA. Great job getting to the QB, in multiple ways. Middle of DL better. LBs active but lost at times. Good effort

VANDERBILT: Tough spot catching Hartman coming back. That's a good football team. QB change had to made but you hope it doesn't slow progression. Felt like it was heading in right direction. Lack of balance will always catch up with you. Still like how 2 runs the ball. Sets tone
