Cole Cubelic shares SEC takeaways following Week 7 action

Cole Cubelic’s takeaways are a Sunday staple in the SEC community.
The Week 7 slate had 5 conference clashes, Arkansas playing an out-of-conference contest and 3 SEC teams on bye weeks. Cubelic shared his takeaways for the 11 teams there were in action on Saturday.
Here’s what the SEC Network analyst had to say about Saturday’s performances:
ARKANSAS: BIG win at a tough place to play vs a physical team. Having 1 back massive. WRs could help him a little more. OL really good 62/55 had some really nice combos. Great protection. Aggressive on def, left in man, too much space vs quick game. DL solid vs run. Needed that!

FLORIDA: Step late on pressures, too many IMO vs OL that has been shaky but LB run thru was effective. 1 good disruption. Did not fit run well vs heavier sets. Q runs seemed unaccounted for at times. Tackling faded late. Went away from run at odd times. Consistency issues on off.

KENTUCKY: Felt close to must have. Showed up & played like it was. Tackled VERY well after missing 23 LY. Pressure got home. Nice plan by both Coor’s. QB is real deal, perfect fit in that culture. Tough as nails. Big personnel on off made the difference. OL better. 24 adds yds!

MISSISSIPPI STATE: Couldn’t protect. Had to move OL around. But I guess the next should just be as good/ready. Couldn’t get guys in space. Didn’t break tackles. Got away from run game. Front 7 great early but faded. Backside runs are their kryptonite. 13 is so good on defense.

TENNESSEE: Program changing win. QB in control, composed. 2 great finding space. OL brought the fight, impressive performance. BIG game for 58. 33 played like he was possessed, he saw things before they were happening. 21 disrupted on def. They just keep throwing haymakers. Huge.

VANDERBILT: 13 made some great throws. In control of quick game. 55 dis hood things on Off. Like how the DBs attack the run. Just outmanned up front. 99 gives great effort. Coverage up seams struggled. 13 does some really nice things. Have to give 5 a little balance when in game.
