This week, there were a ton of games to pay attention to, as only 2 SEC-vs.-SEC matchups were on the Week 3 schedule.
Still, Cubelic broke everything down and offered his takeaways for every team on Twitter. Here’s what he said about all 14 squads:
ARKANSAS: KJ had it going! 3rd & 12 throw HUGE! Didn't handle backside run blks well. DL movement/LB flashing up/ extra defenders adding late complicated things. Protection good. 51 great! Love watching 5 run. More drops(INT). Protection clean. Back end struggled. 42 a maniac

FLORIDA: Take the win & learn from it. Younger def on field & it showed. Mis fit run & effected by visual deception presented. Were able to make run go late in must have moments. Need to lean on it & offer more designed QB runs. 2 & 7 both great. 1 showed up big late. TO's killer

KENTUCKY: Handled their business. Levis great after the INT. Don't like seeing him take hits. Missed a few but countered w/ some insane throws. His legs help. DL stout. OL has to cut out leakage, LB run thru/penetration slowing things. CB's really good! 9 BIG TIME! Shoutout & 3-0

MISSISSIPPI STATE: Tough one. Special teams let them down. Thought they tackled well 1st 3qtrs. 14 played hard on def. Protection not good enough. QB affected, missed some of the quick throws. Bad INT. Couple drops. Appreciate sticking with run a little more.

OLE MISS: Nice win. RB's just big time, such a good feel for the scheme. 64 best of the yr. 0 solid in both facets. Couple 2nd level blocks away from more BIG runs. 2 made some big boy throws & a few poor decisions. The QB runs are weird. That zone cut was cookin. 17 flashed on D

TENNESSEE: Handled their business. 5 in full control. Smooth & confident. 7 got good work. Been waiting on 11 to show that. Love how they challenge downfield. TEs make a lot of it go. Protection solid. Gotta cut flags. 3rd down defense great. DTs keep growing. More 76 finishing!

VANDERBILT: Good win for this group. Ahead of schedule. That team has talent & you got it on the road as an underdog. 2 runs with authority. Sets tone. 14 helped the young QB. Some big throws from 13. He evens out the off a little more. Was big time in 2nd half. They showed grit.

SEC play begins in earnest for many teams next week. We’ll see if there are any more crazy results as the 2022 season marches on.
As things stand after Week 3, only South Carolina has a losing record (1-2). But, the Gamecocks have also played 2 SEC games against ranked teams already. We’ll see if they can get back on track in Week 4.
