One Fresno State coach has been placed on administrative leave following an incident in which he broke a glass window inside of a press box on Saturday, injuring fans during the 17-10 victory over San Jose State.

There has not been an official count of injured fans released after the coach allegedly punched the window out of “anger or frustration” though it is known that as mother and her daughter suffered lacerations and were taken to a local hospital.

“Unfortunately, some fans were injured during last night’s football game as a result of glass that fell after a member of the coaching staff broke the window in the coach’s box above a seating section,” Fresno State athletic director Terry Tumey said in a statement to USA TODAY.

The identity of the coach has not been disclosed by the university at this time.

“We want to emphasize that the safety of our fans is a high priority and the Athletic Department deeply regrets that this incident occurred,” Tumey said.
