There was no lack of reaction on social media to the last regular season editions of the Associated Press and Coaches’ College Football Poll.
In the AP poll, Michigan jumped over Cincinnati, which beat East Carolina 35-13 on Friday and Alabama, which struggled to beat Auburn 24-22 on Saturday. The Wolverines are now No. 2 in the AP poll after beating Ohio State 42-27 on Saturday. The Bearcats and Crimson Tide are No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Oklahoma State is No. 5 after beating Oklahoma 37-33.
Plenty of fans focused on Alabama’s No. 4 position, and wondered how the College Football Playoff committee would rank the Crimson Tide after the 4-overtime win over Auburn. Some of the comments centered on Alabama being behind an undefeated Cincinnati, while others noted that Michigan jumped Alabama.
Here’s a sampling of some of the reactions:
Alabama is No. 2 in the coaches poll but No. 4 in the AP poll. Suspect the playoff committee will split the difference.

Michigan is up to No. 2 in the latest AP Poll. That's the Wolverines' highest ranking since Nov. 13, 2016.
Who did Michigan lose to after that ranking, potentially indirectly costing them a CFP berth? None other than the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Cowboys in at No. 5 in this week’s AP Poll, as well, behind only Georgia, Michigan, Cincy and Alabama.
Sooners fall to No. 13, Baylor No. 9.
