College football fans rejoice at the start of FBS play

The college football season officially kicked off with last Saturday’s “FCS Kickoff” between Central Arkansas and Austin Peay. Now, FBS football is officially back with UAB taking on the same Central Arkansas squad from the FCS opener.

Unlike the FCS Kickoff’s primetime TV treatment, the FBS vs. FCS contest is limited to ESPN3 streaming. Still, fans are excited to just be watching FBS-level football again. Many took to social media to share their excitement that college football is back:

In addition to UCA at UAB, there is another college football game Thursday. South Alabama at Southern Miss, the first game of the year featuring two FBS teams, kicks off at 9 p.m. ET on the CBS Sports Network.
