College football takes a back seat when you’re dealing with life-threatening weather.

Unfortunately for many across the Southeast, specifically Florida, that’s been the case as Hurricane Milton ravaged the area. The Tampa area took a direct hit from the strong hurricane, and as a result, the Memphis-South Florida game has been rescheduled — and relocated.

Originally scheduled to kick off from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa on Friday night, the game will now take place at Camping World Stadium in Orlando on Saturday. The American Athletic Conference announced that the game will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPN+.

This is an important game for both of these teams. The Tigers enter with a 4-1 overall record and a 0-1 record in AAC play. The Bulls, meanwhile, are sitting at 2-3 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

The Tigers’ conference loss came to Navy, while the Bulls’ lost to Tulane.

Entering the season, Memphis received some hype to be the Group of 5’s College Football Playoff representative. With 1 loss already, the Tigers would likely need to win out to receive any CFP consideration.

The Bulls didn’t enter the season with the same expectations, but they’ve played tough opponents so far. A win over Memphis with all the adversity the team and their families are going through may be just what the team needs to feel good about this season.
