College football head coach resigning after 2021: ‘Administration is sabotaging program’
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Butch Davis has been at Florida International University since 2017, amassing a 24-30 overall record during that time.
But, Davis won’t be back in 2022, as he is going to resign at the conclusion of FIU’s season.
Per Brett McMurphy of the Action Network, Davis claims the administration has been sabotaging the football program:
FIU’s Butch Davis told @ActionNetworkHQ he will not return next year. “The administration has been sabotaging the program." FIU not allowed to recruit on road last 2 years, had to use Miss St’s old shoulder pads (because of no $) & uniforms are 9 years old https://t.co/RwEouTTOPz

Those are obviously some strong claims from Davis. It remains to be seen if the school will have a response to them.
Davis won 2 Super Bowls during his time on the Dallas Cowboys’ staff during the early and mid-90s.
Who FIU hires to replace Davis remains to be seen, but another FBS job will soon come open at FIU.
