The Indiana Hoosiers entered the 2021 season with high expectations. After all, just last season, the Hoosiers went 6-2 overall and 6-1 in Big Ten play.

In fact, coach Tom Allen and the Hoosiers would have played in the B1G Championship Game if the league hadn’t changed the rules to allow 5-0 Ohio State to go instead.

This year, though, has been a much different story. The Hoosiers finished the 2021 campaign an abysmal 2-10, with an 0-9 record in Big Ten play.

That performance cost OC Nick Sheridan his job. Additionally, Allen will take a $200,000 pay cut each year from 2022 to 2025:

Allen’s current contract runs through the 2027 season. But, with the way this season went, his seat will be a lot warmer heading into 2022.

Pleasant memories of the 2020 success will grow even more distant if Allen can’t get this program back on track next fall.
