College football offseason timeline

The first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship has come and gone, officially putting a bow on the 2014 season.

Although there won’t be any meaningful games played during the nine-month offseason, there’s still plenty for football fans to look forward to in the coming months.

Here are just some of the dates worth keeping an eye on throughout the offseason:

Recruiting dead period ends Jan. 15
Deadline to declare for NFL Draft Jan. 15
Senior Bowl Jan. 24
NFL Draft Combine Feb. 17-23
Spring practice season March/April (dates vary by school)
NFL Draft April 30-May 2
Nike’s The Opening camp Early July (dates TBD)
Training camps begin Late July/Early August (dates vary by school)
2015 Season Week 1 Sept. 3-5
