College Football Playoff officially announces dates that rankings will be released in 2018 season

College football season is only three weeks away. And signs that another campaign is soon to begin continue to appear.
This week, the College Football Playoff selection committee met in preparation for the season, announcing the dates and times that its rankings will be released this year. The first CFP rankings will be released on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7-8 p.m. ET.
“We’ve had four very successful seasons and I look forward to a fifth,” said Rob Mullens, chair of the selection committee and athletic director at the University of Oregon in a press release. “We’re in good shape heading into this upcoming year.”
The committee will convene in person on Mondays and Tuesdays and will release six rankings, beginning after the ninth week of the season.
Here’s the schedule for when the rankings will be released:
Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7-8 p.m. ET
Tuesday, Nov. 6 at 9-9:30 p.m. ET
Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 7-8 p.m. ET
Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 7-8 p.m. ET
Tuesday, Nov. 27 at 7-7:30 p.m. ET
Sunday, Dec. 2 at noon-4 p.m. ET
The committee also finalized the list of members who will be recused from voting or discussions regarding selected teams. The policy states that “if a committee member or an immediate family member, e.g., spouse, sibling or child, (a) is compensated by a school, (b) provides professional services for a school or (c) is on the coaching staff or administrative staff at a school or is a football student-athlete at a school, that member will be recused.”
