Week 7 was incredibly rough on ranked teams. Four teams in the top 10 fell (No. 2 Georgia, No. 6 West Virginia, No. 7 Washington and No. 8 Penn State), including two (WVU, PSU) to unranked opponents. In the remaining 15, four more teams would fall (No. 15 Wisconsin, No. 16 Miami, No. 19 Colorado  and No. 21 Auburn).

With eight teams losing and another six with the week off, only 11 ranked teams notched a victory in Week 7. The biggest of those 11 wins undoubtedly belongs to No. 13 LSU. Ed Orgeron’s squad bounced back from a tough loss at Florida in Week 6 to knock off No. 2 Georgia 36-16 in Tiger Stadium. The Bayou Bengals’ big win adds a lot of intrigue to an upcoming showdown with another ranked team in Death Valley, No. 1 Alabama on Nov. 3.

Speaking of the Crimson Tide, Nick Saban’s squad continues to look like the No. 1 team, beating a Missouri squad known for high-powered offense 39-10. Plenty of teams will make their case for the College Football Playoff over the next six weeks, but few have looked like they can challenge mighty Alabama.

Ohio State might be one of the teams who can give UA some trouble in the CFP. The Buckeyes entered the day No. 3, took care of business against Minnesota and will likely take the spot that formerly belonged to Georgia.

Here are all the scores from the Associated Press Top 25 in Week 7:
