In recent years, the Heisman Trophy has been a quarterback-dominated position. Two College GameDay analysts, however, are going out on a limb with two non-QB picks for 2020’s Heisman winner.

Kirk Herbstreit shared that he thinks LSU will go back-to-back with Heisman winners having Derek Stingley Jr. follow Joe Burrow. Desmond Howard, who knows something about a wide receiver winning the top individual award, is sticking with his prior pick of Alabama’s Jaylen Waddle.

The other GameDay analysts stuck with QB picks of Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Notre Dame’s Ian Book.

  • David Pollack – Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence
  • Kirk Herbstreit – CB Derek Stingley Jr
  • Lee Corso – Notre Dame QB Ian Book
  • Rece Davis – Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence

Earlier this month, the Heisman Trophy Trust said no decisions have been made on how to handle the 2020 award in a college football season where the Power 5 conferences are not playing on the same season calendars.
