College GameDay has announced its first location for the 2018 season, and it will be visiting a rivalry matchup that dates back to 1887.
The popular ESPN kickoff show will air live from South Bend, Ind., on Sept. 1 as Notre Dame prepares to host Michigan on the first Saturday of college football season. The two schools have played 42 times, but this will be the first meeting since 2014.

The Wolverines lead the all-time series against the Fighting Irish, 24-16-1. Notre Dame won the last matchup between the two teams, 31-0, in 2014.

As the show mentioned in its announcement tweet, College GameDay’s first road show aired live at Notre Dame in 1993, so it will be back for the first week of the season 25 years later.
In the first Coaches Poll of the season, Notre Dame is ranked No. 11, while Michigan is at No. 14.
The schedule for SEC teams in Week 1 of the season doesn’t feature many high-profile matchups, and it includes several against FCS opponents. The only Week 1 game featuring an SEC team and two teams ranked in the top 25 of the Coaches Poll is Miami-LSU, which takes place on Sunday, Sept. 2.
