College GameDay misses Army-Navy game, fans share frustration and criticism
By Keith Farner
Published:
College GameDay did not make it to the Army-Navy game on Saturday morning, a departure from recent years when the popular pregame show has made it to the annual game. Because it became a tradition, plenty of fans were surprised and disappointed in the absence.
Several fans noted that it’s the only game of the day, and is usually a great opportunity to show patriotism and support the military.
Army has won 4 of the last 6 games, and this year’s game will kickoff at 3 p.m. ET on CBS.
If GameDay wants to return to the game in future years, it’ll be moving around the country.
Next season’s game will be in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The 2024 game is at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland; 2025 is at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore; and 2026 is at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the home of the Jets and Giants. The game returns to Philadelphia in 2027.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction:
It’s pretty terrible that @CollegeGameDay isnt going to the Army Navy game. Considering how these kids are future officers and gun fighters, and it’s the only college football game today

ESPN had time for College Gameday to be in columbus two weeks ago. They had time to be in Texas for the big 12 title game but apparently they dont have time for the Army v Navy game. They don’t have time for two programs that represent the country. SMH.

@espn @Disney pretty classless move to not have College Game Day at the Army-Navy game today.

college game day is not going to the Army-Navy game because of politics it has nothing to do with anything else. This does not fit Disney’s personification of what a young male should strive for.
