Mississippi State new betting favorite to win College World Series in updated odds

With the 2021 College World Series field down to six teams, there is a new betting favorite to win it all in Omaha.
Over at FanDuel sportsbook, Mississippi State now has the best odds to win the CWS at +145. Before the first game of the greatest show on dirt, Vanderbilt was the betting favorite at +240 while MSU was fourth of eight teams with +750 odds.
The Bulldogs are now well-positioned with a 2-0 start with one-run wins over Texas and Virginia. MSU hurlers Will Bednar and Landon Sims combined for a record 21 strikeouts in the 2-1 victory over the Longhorns. The Mississippi State bats came through with a late comeback in the 6-5 win over UVA.
The Commodores, on the other hand, are 1-1 and face elimination Wednesday after being upset by NC State 1-0 despite Jack Leiter’s 15-strikeout performance.

Vanderbilt and Stanford play in an elimination game at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday. Mississippi State next plays on Friday against either Virginia or Texas.
