Colorado hosts Caleb Williams and USC Saturday at Folsom Field in Boulder, Colo. The Buffaloes will be out to get back in the win column after a 42-6 blowout loss at Oregon a week agao.
With star 2-way player Travis Hunter out due to a lacerated liver, the Buffs’ defensive backfield was already missing one of its top playmakers. It could potentially be down another as safety Shilo Sanders is “doubtful” to play against the Trojans, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported on Saturday morning.
Sanders. a former South Carolina player who eventually joined his father, Deion, at Jackson State and now Colorado, has totaled 26 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception in 4 games for the Buffs. He is coming off a 7-tackle day against Oregon.
After the game, the younger Sanders stated that he needed to be checked out at a hospital after “peeing blood”, stating that he “landed on [his] kidney after making a tackle”. As Thamel noted, Sanders didn’t practice throughout the week.
Kickoff between Colorado and USC is set for noon ET on FOX.
