Connor Shaw resigns from assistant coaching job at Furman

Former South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw is no longer an assistant coach at Furman University. The school sent out a press release saying Shaw has resigned to accept a position in private business.

Dru Duke replaces Shaw as the tight ends coach. Shaw was just hired in January for the position.

The former signal caller threw for over 6,000 yards during his four-year career, totaling a school record 27 wins. He completed 65.5 percent of his passes, which is also a school record. He combined for 73 touchdowns.

Following his career in Columbia, Shaw played for the Cleveland Browns, who signed him as an undrafted free agent, and the Chicago Bears. He played in one game for the Browns in 2014, throwing for 177 yards and one INT.
