The latest postponement following the outbreak of the coronavirus comes from Tuscaloosa as the Crimson Tide are set to postpone the start of spring football according to multiple reports.

Alabama was set to hit the practice for the first time this spring on Friday at 2 p.m. CT. It’s unclear when the Crimson Tide will now begin spring football in Tuscaloosa.

The program’s A-Day spring game was set to take place on Saturday, April 18, but that will likely be moved as well following the delay in the program’s start to the spring.

According to Arkansas AD Hunter Yurachek, the SEC has given each member school the freedom to decide whether they want to practice and train on campus. That’s why you see schools handling this situation differently up to this point.

“What I’ll tell you is – we were given the autonomy, and it’s really the only thing we’ve been given autonomy to do from conference member institutions, is make our own decisions from campus to campus regarding practices and workouts – not just for football but for all of our teams,” Yurachek said Friday in an interview with Arkansas radio show “Hit That Line.”

We’ll keep you posted for any news regarding the start of Alabama’s spring football camp when that information becomes available.

Alabama made the news official with the following post. No return date was announced.
