We are living during interesting times and perhaps nothing illustrates that better than the latest news out of Athens.

According to Radi Nabulsi of UGASports, Kirby Smart and several of his Georgia assistants and Bulldog players will likely have to self-quarantine after traveling outside the country during spring break.

It must be noted that the University of Georgia has not reported a single case of COVID‑19/coronavirus at this time but there have been cases of it being found in Georgia.

Neither Smart nor his assistants or players are suspected to have coronavirus at this time but due to a recent memo sent out by the school, anyone traveling outside the United States during spring break has self-quarantine for 14 days.

Smart is believed to have traveled to Costa Rica during Georgia’s spring break.

Georgia AD Greg McGarity has confirmed to UGASports that the policy applies to all employees at Georgia, which includes Smart.

The Bulldogs were set to begin spring football next week but those plans have been put on hold and Georgia has suspended spring football in Athens for the time being. The SEC has also announced all sports events have been suspended until March 30.

While that is the case, Arkansas AD Hunter Yurachek shared on Friday that the SEC has given schools the freedom to individually decide whether or not to hold practices on campus.
