ACC team loses non-conference game set to be played this weekend due to cancellation

The upcoming college football slate for this weekend just lost a game as Charlotte has announced its upcoming trip to North Carolina has had to be canceled.
Charlotte was forced to cancel the game due to contract tracing for the football team’s offensive line. With those players now in quarantine, Charlotte didn’t have enough lineman to compete on Saturday.
“We’re extremely disappointed to have to cancel our game at North Carolina. While I know our team is heartbroken, due to the number of players in quarantine, we could not safely play,” Charlotte Athletic Director Mike Hill said in a released statement. “We very much appreciate the University of North Carolina working with us to schedule this game.”
Charlotte is still scheduled to host Georgia State on Saturday, Sept. 26 following this news.
This was scheduled to be North Carolina’s only non-conference game of the 2020 season following the ACC’s move to an 11-game schedule.
